Making Room for baby

Our house seemed big when we bought, but we are finding out really quickly that we need more room. However we are not planning on moving anytime soon.  Today I decided that I needed to start making some rearrangement in our house for our new baby.  Our third bedroom we currently use as our office/guest room. We have to make this now the new baby's room, so that means, cleaning out the closet and putting things in different places.  What a challenge as we really don't have enough room as it is for storage.  I think I have successfully figured out were everything can go, with out filling my garage to the brim.  We still have a lot of work to do, but I feel good at the process I made today.  Next step probably paint!!!

A Kitchen Helper

Calleigh has been really wanting to help in the kitchen lately.  She pushes a chair over to the counter so she can help wash dishes and make some dinner.  Well I came home tonight, to find Calleigh helping dad in the kitchen.  She was in the drawer were the oven mitts are kept.  I came in quietly to see what she was doing, and well it was absolutely priceless to see her putting on the oven mitts and trying to pick up the microwave food cover.  Andy was able to capture a picture of it.
Her help wasn't finished she then helped dad make his coffee for the morning, she watched him pour the water in the top and she got to push the button.  What a big helper she is in the kitchen!!!

A little Imagination

Today Calleigh pushed all her chairs from her table into the living room.  I am not sure why she does this, however, some times acts like a train saying "chooochooo", than others, well, she just pushes the chairs together, I am sure to just make a mess.  Today she pushed them together, but then mom and dad a great idea, to make a little fort with them.  We got a blanket and draped it over the top of the chairs.  I showed her how she could go inside and be under the blanket.  She looked at me with a big smile on her face and said, "that's neat".  She of course had to get all her animals, and books to put in the fort.  Well dad got in on the action as well and joined her to the best of his ability.  I think it was the highlight of her day, we will see if she does it again tomorrow.  It was pretty adorable.

A Tea Party........with the dogs!!!

Calleigh decided today was a great day to have a tea party.  She got all her tea stuff out, cups, plates, sugar, cream, and of course the tea pot.  She sat down on the floor, beside the dogs and was serving the dogs some tea.  She was forcing the dogs to drink from the cups and the tea pot.  I am sure the dogs really did not enjoy having the tea pot shoved  into their faces.  They were however good sports with the whole situation.  They just laid there looking at her and probably thinking "really child we are dogs we do not want any tea". I guess our little girl needs a brother or sister to share her  tea parties with, or some friends.  Kids these days really know how to use their imagination!!!

French Fries

A couple of weeks ago, Calleigh and I had just finished up grocery shopping, when we drove by a McDonald's.  She pointed to the McDonald's and said "french fries".  Now we don't go there very often, but I guess she was in the mood for some french fries, and just put the words and place together, and wanted to let me know.

Well today was another one of those days.  But today we drove by In 'N' Out and she said, "french fries" again, so not really having a plan for lunch we decided to stop.  How can I resit when she says it so clear and uses the word please.  She ate them all of course and wanted some of mine too!!!

Sauce, Sauce and more sauce

Recently Calleigh has become completely obsessed with having sauce on EVERYTHING.  She will run over to the fridge and ask for "ketchup". Even if we have nothing to put ketchup on.  I have no idea where she has gotten this idea from, its rather funny that she needs something to 'dip'.  It wouldn't be so bad if she decided to dip then bite, however, she dips then licks, then asks for more.  Last night we had pizza for dinner and well she needed to dip her pizza in Ranch dressing.  It was all over her face and needed to have the bottle next to her, so that when she ran out it would be right there.  Oh my goodness, I have no idea where she is getting this from:)

Saying a little prayer

Today Calleigh was having some quiet time, she loves looking at books and telling her version of all the stories.  She makes a huge mess of all the books she has, a puts them all over the floor.  Today however, she picked up one of her church books, "Hail Mary" which is a prayer we say to Mary (a mother, a sister, or friend).  The prayer/book goes like this:

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among woman,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

I could hear her saying, "Hail Mary, full of Grace. Amen" has she flipped through the pages.  This absolutely melted my heart, to know that what we say she really is listening and picking up on ALL we say.  As time goes on, I am sure she will pick up on more of the prayer, and others to.

Our Exciting News!!!

The Streit Family is proud to announce that we will be expecting baby Streit #2 on October 24.  That puts me at about 15 weeks along.

I have been feeling pretty good with this one.  I have had no morning sickness, just the odd nausea here and there, but mostly really no side affects.  However, a few weeks ago, we had a little scare, I got up to use the restroom, and a huge gush of blood started running down my leg.  Off to the ER we went.  They did blood work, urine sample, and ultrasound.  Everything was completely normal and fine.  They figure, as my uterus has been getting bigger it could have been a little cell left over from my last period.  Nevertheless, it was very scaring.  I was ordered to take it easy, and try not to do much lifting.  Hard for me, but we have managed.  Things are good, now, just got back from the doctor today and everything looks good.

Once again with this one we will not be finding out what we will be having!!!  We are excited, and trilled to be giving Calleigh a little brother or sister.
