Happy Anniversary

Well today was our four year wedding anniversary.  How time really does go by quickly when you are having fun.  We are truly blessed to have wonderful family, and friends that were able to join us on that very 'warm' day four years ago today.  We are blessed to have two beautiful and healthy kids.
We didn't do much today, Andy was at work and I was home with the kids.  We did manage to go out for dinner at the Olive Garden.  We will actually celebrate our anniversary with a night away in a few weeks at the Pointe South Mountain Resort.  We look forward to that in a few weeks.  Happy Anniversary to my wonderful, caring, loving husband.  I couldn't think of a better person to go through our journey of life together.  Happy Anniversary darling, and many more to come.  Love you always

Another day...

Well we have been very busy the last couple of days, going to swimming and hanging out with friends.  Calleigh is doing so great at swimming, she is even swimming under the water all by herself.  Its amazing how fast they really do learn.  Aidan is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up onto everything that he possibly can.

Calleigh I think has finally figured out that Aidan is an actual human being and she can actually play with him.  Tonight Calleigh was on the floor with all her pretend food, and Aidan was sitting right in there with her.  Calleigh gave him his own plate and food.  He just sat there and chewed on what he could, and Calleigh was thrilled that she could play with her little brother.

Another Milestone

Look at that face, so proud of
himself
Today Aidan had another milestone.  He started pulling himself up on all the furniture and his toys.  He was so proud of himself when he did it.  He did manage to take a few tumbles to the ground when trying to pull himself up onto "moving" toys.  Let the fun begin, now its only a matter of time before he starts to walk.  Look out.....

Father's Day

All the dads and kids
Well today was Father's day.  I think Andy had a great day.  Calleigh and I made breakfast this morning, eggs, bacon, and pancakes.  It was very delicious.  We went to church, and went to my parents house for lunch.  The kids ended up having a little nap, so Andy and I went to the grocery store to get our groceries for the week.  Andy's parents invited us over for a swim and dinner, so we went over there when the kids got up from their naps.  It was a great day!!!  I am very thankful for my dad as he as always done so much for us kids.  I am thankful for my wonderful husband who is loving, caring and a wonderful dad to his two beautiful kids.  Happy Father's day!!!

Milestones...

In the last couple of weeks and days, Aidan has made many milestones.  Last week, we finally got his first tooth.  It finally popped through, after many days of it coming up and then going back down, it finally stuck.  He now has about three more that I can start to feel on my finger.  It won't be much longer before I won't be able to put my fingers in his mouth.  Yesterday, I went to get Aidan up in the morning and well he was sitting up in his crib looking right at me.  As well, he has been scooting on his belly, and today he finally got up on all fours and started actually crawling.  He has also been able to pick up little cheerios and put them into his mouth.  Many different milestones this week for Mr. Aidan, and many more to come.

Calleigh has had a very busy day today...
We went to art class this morning where we got to paint with our fingers, and make a beautiful picture that was still very wet by the time we were ready to leave.  Our dear friend Amanda and her three beautiful kids invited us to USA Gymnastics open gym time.  Calleigh loved it, she was able to jump on the trampolines, swing on the rings, balance on the balance beam, and hang upside down on the bars.  She loved every minute of it.  We then went to get frozen yogurt, where Calleigh loved her frozen yogurt, with sprinkles.  Later in the day we then went skating.  She is doing so well at skating, she got to skate with Brianna (one of the girls I do respite and habilitation for) she always asks if she can skate with her.  Brianna loves to skate with Calleigh and enjoys her time with her.

We finished the evening up over at my parents house where we swam and Grandma Barb and Grandpa Jerry stopped by for dinner and told us all about their trip back to Iowa and back.

We had a very busy day today, but Calleigh enjoyed every minute of it all.

Swimming Lessons

Well we just finished day two of swim lessons.  They didn't go as I was hoping they were going to go.  I thought because Calleigh enjoyed swimming so much last year she was going to just ease into her new class and have no problems.  Think again.  We have been swimming in my parents pool the last couple of weeks and well it's a bit on the cooler side but she has been swimming minus putting her head under the water.  Which is totally expected.  Well, fast forward to yesterday and the first day of swim class.  Calleigh was excited to go swimming, I was preparing her to go swimming by herself, so I was really proud of her that she walked to her teacher and went right with her.  Well then they got into the water.  The teacher dunked Calleigh right into the water.  Well of course she freaked out.  Then she started crying and the teacher did it again and once more after that.  Needless to say she didn't want to swim with her teacher any more.  The lifeguard, came down off her post and sat next to Calleigh while she kicked her legs in the water.  She made it through the class with just sitting on the side of the pool kicking her legs.  I wanted her to talk to her teacher after class and tell her that she will try again tomorrow.  The teacher told Calleigh that she needed to stop crying, and if she continued to cry then she would keep putting her under the water.  Now, I was a little taken back from her comment to Calleigh so off I marched to the supervisor and expressed my concerns to her.  The supervisor reassured us, that was not the proper way to approach the situation.  I expressed my concerns that Calleigh is not that comfortable yet with putting her head under the water.  The supervisor told me that it is part of the the class and that she instructs her teachers to put their students heads under the water at least once per class.  I fully understand, that, but Calleigh is just not ready for that yet.  I want her to enjoy her class and not be afraid of her teacher or swimming.  So I asked if we could hold off until she was ready. The supervisor agreed, and we would tell Calleigh's teacher as well.  Calleigh was really upset after her swim class yesterday, and that is all she talked about for the rest of the day, how her teacher just kept putting her head under the water.  I reasured her that her teacher wouldn't do it to her again until she was ready.  So that was yesterday.....
Calleigh sitting on the edge

Today was much better, to my surprise she walked with her teacher again and sat down with the class.  She did the kicks, swam with her teacher, and even blew some bubbles today.  I was really proud that she put her self back into the class, and was doing the teacher was asking her to do.  Her teacher didn't put her under the water, and she was happy about that.  I did bribe her a little, I did tell her that if she did good swimming then we could go and get a Jumba Juice.  Well she did good swimming so we went for a Jumba Juice after swimming.

I didn't forgot about Aidan he is just less drama right now. Aidan is also doing swim lessons, in the parent and me class that Calleigh has done for the past two summers.  He is just so laid back its crazy, he just goes with the flow.  He is still a little young to really get the full affect of swimming lesson, but this way I don't have to sit out in the hot sun and just watch Calleigh swim, this way I can swim at the same time with Aidan.  And really, Aidan LOVES the water so why not...

Art and Puzzles

Today was our first day of Squishy, Messy art class.  The title isn't lying, it really is squishy and messy.  Today Calleigh got to paint with shaving cream and paint.  She painted a triangle, with this "puffy" (shaving cream, runny glue, and tempera paint) paint.  She loved to get messy.  Its a big improvement from last year's art class, where she didn't even want to get messy or touch paint.  She had a great time at her art class, and asked if we can go tomorrow.

Like I have said before Calleigh really loves puzzles.  Usually, Grandma is the chosen one who gets to do the puzzles with Calleigh, however tonight, Grandma was a little busy trying to put Aidan to sleep.  Grandpa got to be the lucky one tonight to do puzzles.  Once they finished the puzzles they planned airplanes on the IPad.  Grandpa sure loves to spend time with his little grand kids.

Shoes, Shoes, and hockey, Eh!!!

Well today Calleigh thought it would be so fun, to take all my shoes out of my closet, and try them all on.  She loved to walk around the the house listening to them bang on the floor.  She especially loved the pink ones.  I asked her to get me a pair to wear and she brings me a pair of pink ones.  Too cute, some times I really do think she likes to be a girly girl.

Aidan LOVES hockey.  I really think that love is an understatement.  He loves to play with some of Calleigh's little sticks and balls.  Tonight, while the Stanley Cup finals was on, Aidan sat on Grandpa's lap and INTENTLY watched the game until it was over.  Once the game was over he was back to squirming around like he always does.  I think we might have a future hockey player in the family. Eh!!!

Painting, skating, swimming oh my

Well we had a pretty great day today.  We met Andy for lunch at Apple Bee's, Calleigh thought that was kind of neat that we got to see dad's truck he drives.  And she gave dad heck when he honked his horn.  It was really loud.

We came home later and water colored painted.  She loves to paint, so this was a less messy version.  She painted a beautiful art piece that now hangs on our fridge.  Calleigh also got to go skating today, she loves to skate and is doing so well.  She started back in January and has come along way since.  You would think since I work at the ice rink she would just live there with me, however, that is just not the case.  She comes when I have a few openings and skates with me.  She loves it!!!

Today Aidan went swimming for the first time with dad, he loved it, no screaming, no crying just laid back and loved the water.  I think he will do great at swim lessons this summer.
