It's Raining, It's Pouring.....

"It's raining, is pouring, the old man is snoring....."

Today we had a MASSIVE rain storm, pouring is a little bit of an understatement.  It literately came down in buckets and at  an angle.  The rain was coming down so hard and fast that we couldn't even see out our front window.  Andy had to run out into the rain to peg down the trampoline, it was moving and rocking back and forth.  We thought for sure it was going to tip over, but I think the pegs helped a little bit.  Andy also had to sweep some of the water off of our back patio.  We had a little bit of a river flowing back there.  This weather was totally crazy, but Calleigh a great time, she got to splash in the water and help dad sweep the water away from the door.

Another Busy, Busy Friday

We had another busy Friday.  Our Fridays, used to be very low key, but now for the summer they seem to be very busy.  We started the day off with our art class.  Today we got to blow bubbles and make bubble paintings.  It was really neat, Calleigh enjoyed blowing the bubbles and making a very cool looking picture.

We then had to pick Aidan up from Grandma Barb's and off to swimming we went.  We had swimming today for a make up for missing July 4th.  It was our last day of this session.  Calleigh has come a long way since her first session of swim lessons.  She is now floating on her back all by herself and swimming back to the wall.  We still need to work on jumping into the water and swimming back to the wall without any assistance.  But I am sure with this next go around of swim lessons she will get it down pat with no problem.

After swimming we had a little down time at home, we had lunch and played, while Aidan had a very short nap.  We talked to Grandma Cathy on Skype, so that was exciting.  She always loves to use some short of technology.  After talking to Grandma Calleigh and I decided to make some no bake cookies.  She loved to mix all the ingredients together and of course test some of it as well.

We then got to go ice skating. She skating while I gave and lesson and got to skate with Brianna.  She skated for an hour and loved every minute of it, she didn't want to get off, by we had to because the Zamboni was coming out.

Calleigh got to also go to the wine store with her dad.  She loves to go out with her dad.  She was excited like always to go with her dad.  They came home with a handful of different beers for Andy NOT Calleigh.

It was another busy busy Friday here at the Streit house.  Looking forward to the next couple of weeks with more swimming and art classes!!!!

Happy 4th of July

Well we had a pretty great day.  We did a little work, and play.  It was raining today, so we had a little fun outside for a change. It has been so hot here, we welcomed the rain and cooler weather.  Calleigh got to run through the rain in her rain boots and rod her bike through it too.  She thought it was pretty cool.

While Calleigh and Dad were playing outside, I was busy sewing up a storm.  Thanks to Pintrest, I found a blog, that showed me how to sew a car seat ice pack.  Yes, you heard me right, its an ice pack for the car seat.  It gets so hot in the summer in our cars, that the car seats are so hot for our little ones.  This year has been the first year that Calleigh has really started to complain about it, so I did a little research, and found a lady who made them, however, I couldn't think about spending $40 for one, when I could make one myself.  So I found a blog of a lady who made her's and gave step by step directions with pictures (even better)  Check it out: http://eighteen25.blogspot.com/2010/07/my-carseat-is-cooler-than-yours.html
Here is the outcome of my two that I made.  I am planning to make two more for the grandma's cars.  And the best part was that it only cost me $30 to make four of them.

We celebrated the 4th of July over at my in-laws house.  We had so much fun, we swam, ate, and the "big" boys played with some fire works.  Calleigh was a bit better this year, she has figured out to just cover her ears when the big "boom" goes off. She even was into throwing some poppers.  We had a great day spending it with family.
